Key to species for the Genus Ciulfina based on genital morphology
n.b. C. liturgusa is excluded from this genitalia-based key since, at the time of writing, we have not been able to obtain fresh material from Cape York to examine and compare genitalic form. Until further study of this species group can be carried out, C. liturgusa is retained as a valid species based on the original morphological description by Giglio-Tos (1915) and may possibly be determined by its smaller body size (~ 24 mm).
1 Distal process of ventral phallomere apically widened with 5–6 sclerotised teeth along distal margin; phalloid apophysis with distinct kink, apex bent sharply download (fig. 3) ................................... C. baldersoni
- Distal process of ventral phallomere apically tapered and sclerotised; phalloid apophysis not as above .. 2
2 Distal process of ventral phallomere apically tapered and sclerotised terminating in a large uppertooth with 2–3 smaller teeth below it (fig.6) ........................................................................................ C. biseriata
- Distal process of ventral phallomere apically tapered and sclerotised terminating in a single sclerotised tooth ............................................................................................................................................................. 3
3 Phalloid apophysis long, extending half length of right phallomere; inner margin of ventral phallomere above distal process without obvious paddle-like protusion (fig. 5) ................................................ C. rentzi
- Phalloid apophysis shorter; not as above; inner margin of ventral phallomere above distal process distinctly produced as paddle-like protusion (fig. 4) ............................................................................ C. klassi
