Chrysopidia sinica Yang & Wang, 1990: 155 View in CoL . Type locality: China (Hubei, Shennongjia ). Holotype in CAU.
Diagnosis. This species is characterized by the presence of the head without spots, the maxillary palpi black on outer side, the pronotum with pale reddish-brown spots on the anterolateral angle, the meso- and metanotum without markings, the medial section of forewing costal vein in male usually thickened, the triangular cell im, the 1st rs-psm crossvein located at 2/3 of im, the male sterna VIII + IX slightly exceeded the apex of ectoproct, and the slightly hook-like entoprocessus with an arch invagination on bottom.
Description. Male. Body length 10.0 mm, forewing length 13.8–15.3 mm, hindwing length 13.2–13.4 mm.
Head without spots, vertex raised. Compound eyes blackish brown.Antennae yellow, scape and pedicel wider than flagellum. Frons, clypeus and gena without spots. Maxillary palpi black on outer side, labial palpi brownish yellow.
Pronotum quadrate, with pale reddish-brown spots on anterolateral angle. Mesonotum and metanotum without markings.
Legs with dense setae, without spots. Pretarsal claws brown, with basal dilation.
Forewing broad. Pterostigma indistinct. Medial section of costal vein usually thickened. Costal area with 26–32 crossveins; 16–18 radial crossveins present. 1st rs-psm crossvein located at 2/3 of im; im triangular; m1 smaller than m2; 10–12 crossveins present between Psm and Psc. c1 smaller than c2, dcc opened. A1 forked, A2 and A3 simple. Three series of gradate veins brown, number of gradates: 10–11/7–8/8–10.
Hindwing with pale black suffusion on apical posterior margin. Pterostigma indistinct. Costal area with 22–23 crossveins; 15 radial crossveins and 10 psm-psc crossveins present. Three series of gradate veins present, number of gradates: 10/4–5/8–9.
Abdomen with dense setae. Tergum VII and sternum VII subquadrate in lateral view; tergum VIII obviously shorter than tergum VII; sternum VIII fused with sternum IX, slightly exceeded apex of ectoproct; tergum IX fused with ectoproct. Callus cerci ovoid. Gonarcus arcuate, lateral arms narrow at base and wide at tip; entoprocessus with an arch invagination on bottom and slightly hook-like; arcessus straight and narrow.
Female. Body length 10.5–11.0 mm, forewing length 16.5–17.5 mm, hindwing length 14.8–14.9 mm.
Same as male, but costal area of forewing without thickening area. Sternum VII longer than tergum VII; tergum VII subquadrate in lateral view; tergum VIII shorter than tergum VII; tergum IX fused with ectoproct. Callus cerci ovoid. Subgenitale bilobed apically; spermatheca thick; vela short; ventral impression absent; duct long and coiled.
Material. Holotype ♂, China, Hubei, Shennongjia Forestry District, Dayanwu, 1700 m, 1984.VI.02, Chikun Yang ( CAU) . Paratypes: 3♀, same as holotype ( CAU) ; 2♂, China, Gansu, Wen, Mt. Gaoloushan, 1980.VIII.01, Fasehng Li ( CAU) .
Distribution. China (Hubei, Gansu).
Remarks. This species is similar to C. remanei , with thickened area located at the middle of forewing costal vein in male specimens. The genitalia of the male holotype of this species may have been lost. We dissected the paratype of this species and found that its shape of entoprocessus and arcessus is completely different from that of C. remanei . This species has the entoprocessus with an arch invagination on bottom and slightly hook-like, while the latter species has broad entoprocessus with spinous process on top.
