( Figs 23 View FIGURE 23 , 81 View FIGURE 81 )
Diagnosis. This species is characterized by the presence of the head without spots, the pale yellow maxillary and labial palpi, the thorax without markings, the long narrow forewing with brown crossveins, the triangular cell im, the 1st rs-psm crossvein located at 2/3 of im, the extremely long male sterna VIII+ IX about 3.5 times as long as tergum VIII, the triangular entoprocessus, and the short broad arcessus.
Description. Male. Body length 9.0– 9.3 mm, forewing length 12.9–13.8 mm, hindwing length 10.8–12.2 mm.
Head usually without spots, vertex raised. Compound eyes black and prominent. Scape sometimes with reddish stripe on outer side, pedicel wider than flagellum. Frons and gena without spots. Maxillary and labial palpi pale yellow.
Pronotum anterior margin shorter than posterior margin, without markings. Meso- and metanotum without markings.
Legs with dense setae, without spots. Pretarsal claws brown, with basal dilation.
Forewing long and narrow, most of crossveins brown. Pterostigma indistinct. Costal area with 18–20 crossveins; 11–12 radial crossveins present. 1st rs-psm crossvein located at 2/3 of im; im triangular, m1 smaller than m2; 9 crossveins present between Psm and Psc. c1 smaller than c2, dcc opened. A1 forked, A2 and A3 simple. Three series of gradate veins brown, number of gradates: 7/3–4/7.
Hindwing long and narrow, with black suffusion on apical posterior margin. Costal area with 15–16 crossveins; 11–12 radial crossveins and 8 psm-psc crossveins present. Three series of gradate veins, number of gradates: 7/1– 2/6–7.
Abdomen with dense setae. Tergum VII and sternum VII subquadrate in lateral view; tergum VIII about half as long as tergum VII; sternum VIII fused with sternum IX, about 3.5 times as long as tergum VIII; tergum IX fused with ectoproct. Callus cerci ovoid. Gonarcus arcuate, lateral arms narrow at base and wide at tip; entoprocessus small and triangular; arcessus short and broad.
Type material. Holotype ♂, China, Xizang, Nyingchi, Mêdog, 80K, 2115 m, 2020.VIII.20, Yuchen Zheng ( CAU) . Paratype: 1♂, same as holotype ( CAU) .
Etymology. The specific epithet ‘ macrosterna ’ refers to the extremely long male sterna VIII + IV of the new species.
Distribution. China (Xizang).
Remarks. This species is similar to C. jiriana Hölzel, 1973 . However, this species has long and narrow wings, the 1st rs-psm crossvein located at 2/3 of im, the extremely long male sterna VIII + IX, and the triangular entoprocessus. The latter species has short and broad wings, the reddish markings on the frons, gena and vertex, the 1st rs-psm crossvein located at end of im and the wider entoprocessus.
