Cells are Gram-staining-negative, non-flagellated and rodshaped (2.5 μm long, 1.3 μm wide). Colonies are circular, entire, raised and yellowcolored after 2 days of incubation on R2A at 25°C. Negative reactions are obtained for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease and β galactosidase in API 20NE. Does not utilize L arabinose, D mannitol, N acetylglucosamine, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate and phenylacetic acid.
