Twenty-one of these species are country endemics and the other two are state endemics, and their EVS vary from 14 to 18.

The region occupying the fourth rank is the Gulf Coastal Lowlands, which contains 31 country endemic species ( Table 17), including eight anurans (all country endemics), one salamander (a country endemic), 22 squamates (all country endemics), and one turtle (a country endemic; Table 4).
