Notes. This was the most frequently collected Cheilosia Meigen species. The species occurs in different habitats of the island, from riverside vegetation to sweet chestnut forests. Cheilosia soror is a widespread species occurring from the Iberian Peninsula to Siberia and Japan and from the Scandinavian Peninsula to the North of Africa. Larva undescribed but found in some fungi ( Speight 2011).
