Literature. P. impressifrons: Schimmel (1993) : original description; Schimmel (1996a): taxonomic note.

Remark. In the original description of this species, Schimmel (1993) classified it tentatively in Penia . Later (Schimmel 1996a), he mentioned that P. impressifrons most probably belongs to Pectocera Hope, 1842 . After the detailed examination of the type material of P. impressifrons and Ceroleptus sulcatus , also described from northern Vietnam, we conclude that they are conspecific. Therefore, we herein synonymize Penia impressifrons Schimmel, 1993 with Ceroleptus sulcatus ( Fleutiaux, 1903) .
