Type locality. Brazil, off São Paulo state (24°17ʹ08ʺS, 44°12ʹ09ʺW, 163 m) .

Material examined. Brazil: -- Rio de Janeiro state: HAB 13 sta. H4 : MNRJ 16278 [2*]; HAB 16 sta. G3 : MNRJ 16527 [2*p]; 23°04ʹS, 40°59ʹW, 17/xii/2004 : MNRJ 33006 [1*]; 23°05ʹS, 40°58ʹW, 100 m, 16–17/ix/2004 : MNRJ 31354 [1*] .

Geographic and bathymetric distribution. Tropical Southwestern Atlantic Province and the Warm Temperate Southwestern Atlantic Province, from Bahia to Santa Catarina states. From 76 m (this study) to 175 m ( Figueira & Pimenta 2008).
