Cercocebus albigena ugandae Matschie, 1913 View in CoL
Revue Zoologique Africaine 2, p. 210
Current valid name: Lophocebus ugandae (Matschie, 1913)
[ Groves (2007), Groves and Butynski (2013), and Mittermeier et al. (2013) recognized the Ugandan Crested Mangabey as a full species Lophocebus ugandae (Matschie, 1913) . According to Olupot (2020), the rank is only a subspecies of Lophocebus albigena ].
Holotype: A 5.08, male, skull not located, skin; according to old labels from Bugoma forest east of Lake Albert , collected by Grauer in 1907, handed to Schlüter in Entebbe, Lake Victoria, Uganda, 22 June 1907; donated by Schlüter 1907.
Comments: In the General catalog, the specimen ZMB 32805 (= A5659) is marked as the type of Cercocebus albigena ugandae Matschie, 1913 . However, that specimen was collected by O. Neumann in Chagwe and brought to the Museum Berlin by Herzog Adolf Friedrich of Mecklenburg. Matschie's description is based on an old male collected by Grauer in Entebbe. Therefore ZMB 32805 cannot be the holotype .
