Range: —Greater Antilles; southern Mexico to Colombia ( León-Parra 2012), Venezuela, and northern Brazil; Bolivia (CO); Azores.
Ecology: —Rare, known from a single Bolivian collection: Kessler 13326 (LPB); epiphytic, high in the canopy, in humid forests; 1250 m.
Notes: —Distinctive, with simple blades and rhizome lacking scales; rhizomes radially symmetric; petioles lacking or less than 1/4 the blade length; whitish glands present on blade surfaces. May be mistaken for a species of Cochlidium , but has scattered reddish setae on the blades.
