Type data: According to Friese (1899) this species was described based on four females, one from Venezuela, one from Panama and the other two from Brazil. The specimen from Panama is currently housed at ZMB and it is here designated the lectotype. The specimen has the following data label: Panama [handwritten]\ C. atriventris v. rubripes Fr. ♀ [handwritten] 1910 Friese det. [printed]\ [red label] Type [printed]\ Coll. Friese [printed] ( ZMB). Paralectotype with the following data label: Tschek 1870 [handwritten]\ C. atriventris v. rubripes ♀ n. v. [handwrit-ten] det. Friese 1898 [printed]\ [red label] Paratype [printed] ( NMW). Paralectotype with the following data label: Tschek 1870 [handwritten]\ C. atriventris v. rubripes ♀ n. v. [handwritten] det. Friese 1898 [printed]\ [red label] Paratype [printed] ( NMW). The current condition and depository of the remaining paralectotype from Venezuela are unknown .

Type locality: Panama .

Comments: The type locality cannot be further narrowed down than to Panama. The paralectotypes housed at NMW were collected by the Austrian entomologist specialized in Ichneumonidae Carl Tschek (? ‒1872). Both sexes have orange pubescence on head, mesosoma and forelegs, while the rest of the body is mainly covered with blackish hairs .
