Type data
According to the original description, Cockerell proposed this subspecies based on two females collected by J. Ogilvie at Onverwagt, Guyana, on January 10, 1936. The type specimen ( NHMUK, examined) has the following data label: [white circular label with red margin] Type [printed]\ Centris lanipes ogilviei Ckll Type [handwritten]\ Onverwagt B. Guiana Jan 10’36 (J. Ogilvie) [handwritten]\ B. M. Type HYM 17B.920 [handwritten]. The type is in good condition and is coded NHMUK 010812613 in the NHMUK data portal.
