40. Centraloecetes neapolitanus ( Schiecke, 1979)

Materials examined. 2 individuals; Vas. 31(2).

Distribution. Atlanto-Mediterranean ( Bellan-Santini & Ruffo 2003; Christodoulou et al. 2013). The species is reported in Cyprus (Vasiliko bay) for the first time. In Vasiliko Bay, it is considered as a rare species (FI: 2.38 %).

Ecology. In Vasiliko Bay it was found at 22 m depth, in muddy sand substrate with 7.284 % organic matter and associated with C. prolifera and C. cylindracea . The station was in “moderate” ecological status according to the Bentix Index.
