Diagnosis
Cautires tenebricus belongs to a group of mountain species with a uniformly black body. This species resembles C. nervosus and C. maseki sp. nov. in general appearance, but the male genitalia are characteristic in the slender phallus with the widened apical third ( Fig. 78 View Figs 59–78 ).

MALAYSIA: ♁, Perak, Doherty ( BMNH).
Measurements
BL 7.0 mm, PL 1.05 mm, PW 1.35 mm, HW 1.0 mm, LP 0.9 mm.
Distribution
Peninsular Malaysia: Perak.
Remark
Cautires tenebricus has not been found in the recently collected material from the Malay Peninsula and the only known specimen is the holotype deposited in the Museum of Natural History in London.
