Previously recorded from Angola, DRC, Kenya, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe ( Ferreira 1972).
New country record for Swaziland: Four specimens, Malolotja Nature Reserve , 14–15 April 2015 and 1 April 2016. One specimen, Mantenga Nature Reserve , 2 April 2015. Crepuscular/nocturnal. At Malolotja Nature Reserve, specimens were found in burrows under zebra dung, and in zebra dung-baited pitfall traps operated overnight. At Mantenga Nature Reserve, a specimen was dug out of a burrow underneath cattle dung, and elytra and other fragments were found .
