Type material. HOLOTYPE male. THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES: Central Visayas, Negros Oriental Province, Dumaguete , VIII-2014, col. I. Lumawig ( UGAG) . PARATYPES. THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES: Central Visayas, Negros Oriental Province, Dumaguete , VIII-2014, col. I. Lumawig ( UGAG, UNAM) 3 males, 1 female . THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES: Central Visayas, Negros Oriental Province, Mt. Kanlaon , XI-2014, col. I. Lumawig ( UGAG, UNAM) 3 females .
Description. Holotype male. Dorsal colouration. Head, pronotum, scutellum, clavus, corium, abdominal segments III–VII, connexival abdominal segments III–VII, and abdominal spiracles black to dark brown, with grey punctures; antennal segments I–III black, IV yellow with basal and apical third black; anterior half of anterolateral margins of pronotal disk and costal margin of corium dark castaneous orange; hemelytral membrane white; connexival abdominal segments III–VII black, tinged with dark reddish brown, and with posterior margin dark yellow; neck of head black with two dark orange discoidal spots lateral to midline. Ventral colouration. Head, thorax, abdominal sternites III–VII and genital capsule black; labial segment I yellow, II–IV dark reddish brown; anterior lobe of metathoracic peritreme yellow, posterior lobe dark brownish orange; fore and middle leg with coxae and femora black, trochanters yellow and tibiae and tarsi reddish brown; hind leg with coxae black, trochanters yellow, femora black with anterior third yellow, and tibiae and tarsi pale reddish brown; pleural margin of abdominal sternites III–VII black with posterior margin yellow.
Structure. Head. Labium reaching posterior margin of abdominal sternite IV or anterior margin of V. Thorax. Pronotum with anterior angles obtuse, rounded; anterolateral margins clearly emarginate at the anterior lobe.
Scutellum. Wider than long. Hemelytra. Hemelytral membrane reduced, reaching anterior margin of abdominal tergite IV. Legs. Ventral surface of femora armed with two short subdistal spines and a few scattered along the surface. Genital capsule. Posteroventral edge almost transversely straight, with tiny concavity medially ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 15–22 ). Parameres as in figures 25 and 26.
Female. Colour and habitus similar to male holotype. Connexival abdominal segments III–VII pale reddish brown with upper margin dark brown, VIII and IX dark reddish brown; dorsal abdominal segments III–IX black; fore and middle legs with coxae black, trochanters yellow, and femora, tibiae and tarsi reddish brown; hind leg with coxae black, trochanters yellow, femora reddish brown with narrow yellow, longitudinal stripe at anterior third, and tibiae and tarsi reddish brown; anterior lobe of metathoracic peritreme yellow, posterior lobe reddish brown; pleural margin of abdominal sternites III–VII dark reddish with posterior margin dark yellow; genital plates black with upper margin of laterotergites VIII and IX and inner margin of gonocoxae I dark reddish.
Structure. Head. Labium reaching posterior margin of abdominal sternite IV. Scutellum. As long as wide. Genital plates. Laterotergite IX conspicuously folded downward ( Fig. 20 View FIGURES 15–22 ).

Body length 9.66; head length 1.95; width across eyes 2.00; interocular distance 1.15; preocular distance 1.02; antennomeres length: I 1.60; II 2.50; III 2.00; IV 1.55; labial segments length: I 1.85; II 1.95; III 1.60; IV 1.55; pronotum total length 1.95; maximum width across humeral angles 2.55; scutellum length 1.02; scutellum width 1.10.
Measurements (in mm). Female. Body length 10.99; head length 2.00; width across eyes 2.10; interocular distance 1.22; preocular distance 1.12; antennomeres length: I 1.56; II 2.70; III 1.80; IV 1.50; labial segments length: I 1.80; II 1.90; III 1.55; IV 1.55; pronotum total length 1.92; maximum width across humeral angles 2.60; scutellum length 1.05; scutellum width 1.05.
Type locality. The Republic of the Philippines, Central Visayas .
Etymology. This species is named in honour of our friend and colleague Prof.Alexsander Herczek, in celebration of his 70 th birthday, and in recognition of his prosperous career, especially for his contributions to the systematics of Isometopinae ( Miridae ) and other Old World Heteroptera .
Differential diagnosis. This species is segregated by having the hemelytral membrane narrow, reaching anterior margin of abdominal tergite IV; labium reaching posterior margin of abdominal sternite IV or anterior margin of V; and female connexival abdominal segments VIII–IX and laterotergites VIII–IX black to dark brown. In C. milzae Brailovsky (1995) , the labium reaches the anterior third of abdominal sternite IV; the hemelytral membrane is wider and reaches posterior margin of abdominal tergite IV; and the female connexival abdominal segments VIII–IX and laterotergites VIII–IX are yellow ( Figs. 4, 5 View FIGURES 1–7 , 11, 12 View FIGURES 8–14 ). The paramere of C. herczekia sp. nov., ( Figs. 25, 26 View FIGURES 23–26 ) and C. camarinesa Brailovsky & Barrera ( Figs. 23, 24 View FIGURES 23–26 ) are elongate, slender and apically wider.
