Capederces hauseri Adlbauer, 2001 View in CoL
Type material. Holotype: 1 ♂, South-Africa E. Cape 6 km N of Steytlerville 500 meters, Malaise trap, 16-23 Nov 1999, 33°16’ 84 S, 24° 22’ 78 E, M.E. Irwin, E.I. Schlinger & F. D. Parker, collectors. K. Adlbauer personal collection.
Additional material. Capederces hauseri Adlbauer, 2001 . 2 ♀♀. “ South Africa: E. Cape 6 km N of Steytlerville 500 meters, Malaise trap, 16-23 Nov 1999, 33°16’ 84 S, 24° 22’ 78 E, M.E. Irwin, E.I. Schlinger & F. D. Parker, collectors” ( LGBC)
Diagnosis. The female specimens fit the original description provided for the male, except that the antennae are shorter (AR: 0.95, male: 1.16), but these still reach the elytral apex ( Figure 1 View FIGURE 1 ). The elytra are widest at 2/3 of the total length towards the apex, a characteristic also present in representatives of the tribe Obriini ( Spathuliger or Hologaster species) ( Parnaudeau, 2013).
Measurements. Body length: 5.8-6.3, Antenna length: 6 [both antennae of the second specimen are lacking], AR: 0.95. Male: AR: 1.16 (after the illustration in Adlbauer, 2001).
