Type material. Holotype ♂ i from FRENCH GUIANA, Sinnamary River , Saut Aimara, 14.vi.1995, V. Horeau col. ( FAMU). Paratypes: 2 ♂ i (slide IBN383CM) and 4 ♀ i (slide IBN610CM) same data as holotype ( FAMU, except 1 ♂ i and 1 ♀ i IBN). (Note: Sinnamary is at N 05° 22' / W52° 36'; Saut Aimara is at "...more than 75 km from the mouth on the upper part of the river (Sinnamary)" sensu Reynaud (1998) which may be approximately at N 05°04' / W53° 03'.) Male imago. Length (mm): body, 7.2–8.5; foreleg, 3.8–4.1; fore wing, 7.3–8.0; hind wing, 3.1–3.5; cerci, 21.0. General coloration yellowish white. Head whitish, shaded with black dorsally among ocelli and along hind margin, gena and occiput not shaded. Antenna whitish, shaded with gray. Thorax. Pronotum translucent, shaded with gray medially; shaded more strongly on sublateral dash and lateral margin of posterior pronotal portion; propleura and sternum whitish yellow, diffusely shaded with gray. Mesonotum yellowish white, shaded with gray, mainly along medial line, parapsidal sutures and between PSP; pleurae and sternum shaded gray on mesofurcasternum; mesofurcasternal plates with inner margin blackish. Metanotum shaded gray medially, metafurcasternum shaded gray. Legs. Fore coxa, femur and tibia yellowish white, shaded with gray, remaining segments translucent. Middle and hind legs whitish with yellowish margins. Wings. Membrane hyaline but slightly whitish, veins whitish translucent except basal 2/3 of C and Sc shaded gray. Abdomen yellowish white, shaded with gray dorsally, except on medial band and irregular small dashes at sides of all terga. Abdominal sterna generally not shaded, except sterna VII–IX shaded gray diffusely. Genitalia ( Figs. 103–106 View FIGURES 100 – 110 ): sternum IX slightly convex distally ( Fig. 103 View FIGURES 100 – 110 ), shaded with gray completely but stronger at fore margin; pedestal blackish basally, with short and apically rounded parastylus and inner corner roundly projected ( Figs. 105–106 View FIGURES 100 – 110 ), pedestals distinctly separated in middle; forceps whistish shaded gray; penes translucent yellowish, main lobe of penes relatively long and pointed apically, with sclerotized margin toward medial line ( Fig. 104 View FIGURES 100 – 110 ). Paraprocts protruding (similar to Fig. 108 View FIGURES 100 – 110 ), whitish. Caudal filaments whitish translucent.

Female imago. Length (mm): body, 6.0–8.5; fore wing, 9.7–10.5; hind wing, 4.2; cerci lost. Similar to male, but shaded gray more markedly and widely. Wing membrane translucent yellowish white. Abdominal sternum VIII with paired anteromedian sockets near margin, sockets contiguous medially and opening rearwards ( Figs. 115– 116 View FIGURES 111 – 116 ).

Egg. Length, 365–375µm; width, 295–300µm. No polar cap. Yellowish with brownish amorphous adhesive structure located on convex side of egg.

Etymology. The name is an arbitrary combination of letters, alluding to the type locality, Sinnamary.

Distribution ( Fig. 180 View FIGURES 180 ). French Guiana.

Diagnosis. Campsurus sinamari sp. nov., known from adults of both sexes, can be characterized as follows: 1) posterior margin of male abdominal sternum IX slightly convex distally ( Fig. 103 View FIGURES 100 – 110 ); 2) pedestal of each side distinctly separated in the middle, pedestal with short and apically rounded parastylus and inner corner roundly projected ( Figs. 104–105 View FIGURES 100 – 110 ); 3) main lobe of penes long and pointed apically, with sclerotized margin toward the medial line but without small spines on outer margin ( Fig. 104 View FIGURES 100 – 110 ), secondary lobe well-developed, rounded ( Fig. 104 View FIGURES 100 – 110 ); 4) paraprocts protruding distally; 5) small size (length of male fore wings 7–8 mm); 6) female socket as in Figs. 115–116 View FIGURES 111 – 116 ; 7) no polar cap, amorphous adhesive structure present on convex side.

Discussion. See discussion under C. lucidus . Campsurus sinamari sp. nov. is very similar to C. demeni sp. nov., but the former one does not present spines on the outer margins of the penes and has a very short parastylus.
