Calvatia rugosa (Berk. & M.A. Curtis) D.A. Reid, Kew Bull. View in CoL 31: 671 (1977).
Distribution:— JAMMU & KASHMIR: Kishtwar, Padder region ( Kumar & Sharma 2011). Kumar & Sharma (2011) reported this species as Calvatia rubroflava . Based on their original description, this species is characterized by medium-sized basidiomes with a cream to white, smooth peridium, a cream colored gleba turning yellow to olive yellow, and smooth to warted, globose basidiospores. However, the illustration clearly depicts that the spores are subglobose to ovoid and warted. Although, it is very difficult to place this species in C. rugosa due to inadequate descriptions, at present, it is treated as the same species until further study of the specimen has been carried out for verification.
