Local distribution. ( Table 1 View TABLE 1 , Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 ).
Geographical distribution. GoM: Tampa Bay, Florida Bay, Key West, Tuxpan-Lobos Protected Natural Area, Veracruz Reef System National Park, Bajos de Sisal Reef System; Caribbean Sea: southeast of Cuba, Kingston Harbour, Jamaica.
Recognition characters. Rostrum rounded; basis of antennule with two stout spines on inner and outer margin; basis of pereopod-1 with a row of 2–5 spines and feathered setae on lateral margin.
Remarks. It inhabits coral rubble, calcareous substratum and fine sand with some silt and clay, associated with algae such as Bostrychia tenella (J.V.Lamouroux) J.Agardh , Canistrocarpus cervicornis (Kützing) De Paula & De Clerck , D. delicatula , D. dichotoma , H. spinella . It has also been recorded on submerged wood and plastic ropes, less than 50 m depth.
