Calloconophora pugionata ( Germar, 1821a: 20) View in CoL :

Chiriqui: Bugaba ( Goding 1929e: 230 synonymized Membracis pugionata Germar with Aconophora nitida Fowler and used A. nitida distribution in Panama. Dietrich and Deitz 1991a: 101 synonymizes Aconophora nitida Fowler with Aconophora mexicana Stål. Dietrich and Deitz 1991a: 86 gives C. pugionata hosts as Bauhinia holophylla and Didymopanax vinosum which are native to South America. They cite no record from Panama which the author believes invalidates the presence of Calloconophora pugionata in Panama.
