Calliopsis hesperia is a specialist on plants in the Boraginaceae genus Heliotropium L. ( Fowler 2020). This is a new species record for Mexico. The BBPT captured specimens in June 2020 in the Coastal Sage Matorral in the Guadalupe Valley (MABC). See fig. 29.
