Caput depressum, supra longitudinaliter rugosum. Maxilla inferior paulo longior. Os scabrum. Lingua obtusa, emarginata. Aperturae branchiarum magnae, laterales. Opercula anteriora spina gemina; postica spina solitaria. Corpus valde depressum, lividum. Anus in medio. Radius primus P. dorsalis prioris brevissimus, remotus. P. ventrales valde distantes. Piscis medius quasi inter Callionymum, Uranoscopum & Trachinum.
