Terra typica : Tanzania (Africa)
Tanzania:
• 03°12′S, 37°31′E; 2,200–2,400 m asl: Type Locality: Kilimanjaro Region, near Marangu [gate], outskirts of the entrance of Kilimanjaro National Park, moss and lichen. Binda & Guglielmino (1991)

Remarks. Only recorded from continental Africa and Madagascar ( Maucci 1993).
