Type:—Location of the holotype specimen has not been found. Isotypes in BPI (844345) and NY (47385).
Description:—See Hiratsuka et al. (1992).
Hosts and distribution in Japan:— II, III on Rhynchospora alba Vahl (= R. alba var. kiusiana Makino ) (Hok), R. faberi C.B. Clarke (= R. hattoriana Makino , R. umemurae Makino ) (Kyu) ( Hiratsuka 1960, Hiratsuka et al. 1992).
Notes:—This species is mainly distributed from North to South America, but also has been recorded from Russian Far East ( Azbukina 2005).
