Status at New Ireland. New record, based on WAM material (WAM P.28185-013, 1 specimen, Kavieng District ). Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Sri Lanka east to Caroline Islands and Vanuatu, north to Philippines, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Found in rivers and streams including estuaries, 0–5 m depth. Freshwater, transitional water and marine.
