The abdominalis View in CoL species-group
Tergite 1 with apical lobes widely separated by distinct emargination; tergite 2 strongly modified, with deep basal sulcus. Species included are B. abdominalis (Aubé) , B. belfragei (LeConte) , B. floridana (Brendel) , B. intermedia (Brendel) , B. shawnee Chandler sp. n., and B. ulkei (Brendel) . This group is restricted to eastern North America, with four species typical of the Atlantic and eastern Caribbean coastal salt marshes, and two non-coastal species widespread in the eastern United States.
