Diagnosis. This species differs from its another Australian congener in the larger and much wider body (11.5– 15.5 mm), head with truncate anterior edge, gentle outline of temples behind eyes, transverse depression between antennal insertions, more projecting and not subquadrangular male labrum, strong sexual dimorphism in the structure of mandibles, much shorter abdominal segments uncovered by elytra, truncate apex of pygidium in both sexes, subacute apex of the male anal sclerite, wider mentum, wider tarsi, strongly dentate tarsal claws, finer punctation on the dorsum (except for elytra) and double rows of punctures in weak striae between longitudinal elevated interstrial spaces on elytra, and also in the structure of the male genitalia.
