Brachysomus armatus Yunakov, 2006: 305 . Type locality: Turkey, Ilðaz Daði.

Redescription. Measurements: Body length 1.8 mm, width 1.0 mm. Colouration: Body, legs and antennae darkbrown. Vestiture: Body densely covered with dentate at apical margin, recumbent, grey scales and short, lobeshaped, suberect setae, as long as 0.5x width of interstriae. Ventral surface of body covered with piliform scales and hairs.

Head: Rostrum weakly, conically narrowed at middle, slightly transverse (RL/RW = 0.91). Head capsule almost parallel-sided. Pterygia clearly visible in dorsal view, noticeably projecting from outline of rostrum. Epifrons almost flat, not separated from vertex by transverse depression, almost parallel-sided, without median longitudinal sulcus. Eyes small (VW/ELD = 2.0), oval, moderately convex, situated below level of vertex. Vertex flat, distinctly, finely, and longitudinally punctate under scales. Antennae: Scape slightly and evenly curved, widened distally. Funicle noticeably widened distally; funicular antennomeres: 1st and 2nd elongate; 1st significantly larger than 2nd; 3rd–7th transverse; club egg-shaped.

Thorax: Pronotum slightly transverse (PL/PW = 0.74), widest at middle, evenly convex at disc and sides, weakly constricted anteriorly and posteriorly; finely, densely, and shallowly punctate under scales. Elytra: oval (EL/ EW = 1.27), widest posteriad of mid length, weakly and evenly convex at sides and disc. Striae linear. Punctures shallow, narrowly separated; spaces between punctures somewhat narrower than diameter of puncture, situated at interstrial level. Interstriae flat, shiny, 3x as wide as striae. Legs: Femora moderately swollen in middle part. Protibiae straight, with slightly sinuate medial margin. Metatibiae weakly mucronate. Medial margin of metatibiae emarginate, blade-shaped. First tarsomere triangular, 2nd weakly transverse. Fifth fore tarsomere extending beyond apical lobes of 3rd by 0.60 length of the lobes.

Abdomen: Male 5th ventrite weakly depressed at apical part, apical margin weakly sinuate. Male genitalia: Aedeagus heavily sclerotized, parallel-sided, rounded apically, 1.5x shorter than apodemes; apex of median lobe short curved.

Distribution. Turkey (Kastamonu).

Bionomics. Unknown.

Type material. TURKEY: Holotype ♂ (BRc): ‘Turkey centr., Kastamonu S Agazdagi [= Ilðaz Daði] Gec., 1800–2000 m, 7.vii.1996 (Bayer leg.)’.
