Diagnosis. Cercal plate short, triangular or chordate, either with a pointed apex or a narrowly concave distal margin. Surstylus as long as or longer than cercal plate, in posterior view with or without a tooth on inner margin.
Species included in this group from China are B. hemiliocerca ( Deng & Li, 1986) , B. himalaica ( Suwa, 1977) , B. mediotubera ( Deng, Li & Liu, 1996) , B. peninsularis Suh & Kwon, 1986 , B. spinulibasis ( Li & Deng, 1981) , B. strictistriolata Xue & Zhang, 2005 , B. striolata ( Fallén, 1824) , and B. subspinulibasis sp. nov.
