Diagnosis. Head, dorsal abdominal segments pale orange; pronotum pale orange, posterolateral borders and posterior border pale yellow to yellowish orange; scutellum, clavus, corium and connexivum reddish to dark orange; hemelytral membrane dark ambarine; antennal segments I–III dark orange, IV pale orange; labial segments (with exception of apex of IV brown), anterior and posterior lobe of metathoracic peritreme, and legs pale yellow; hind tibiae with inner expansion dark reddish with basal angle and middle third yellow, and outer expansion with two wide dark reddish transversal stripes and three yellow to pale orange transversal stripes; labium almost reaching posterior border of abdominal sternite III; humeral angles subacute, directed backward. Notes. Anisoscelis (B.) affinis Westwood (1840) was described in six lines from Mexico without any specific locality. The short original description described the thorax and hemelytra as entirely fulvous red, with the legs entirely pale ochraceous.
Distribution. Guatemala: Chacoj, Panzos, and Lanquin. Honduras. Mexico: Baja California Sur (San José del Cabo); Campeche (6 miles W of Xpujil); Chiapas (Bonampak, and Tuxtla Gutiérrez); Guerrero (Acapulco); Jalisco (Chamela); Michoacan (Tuxpan); Morelos (Cañón de Lobos); Nayarit (La Yerba); Oaxaca (7.7 miles S of Ejutla); Puebla (Ajenjibre); Quintana Roo (Tulum); San Luis Potosi El Salto and Tamazunchale); Tabasco (Teapa); Veracruz (Atoyac, Tecolapa, San Andres Tuxtla, Presidio, Dos Amates, El Tajin, Nanchital, and Zontecomapan); and Yucatan (Temax) ( Distant 1881, 1892, Brailovsky and Sánchez 1983, Packauskas 2010).
