Known from the Afrotropical region. BRULLÉ (1846: 492) described Agathis costata from Mauritius, but DE DALLA TORRE (1898), SZÉPLIGETI (1905) and GRANGER (1949: 281, type seen) recorded it from Réunion. In any case, the record from both islands is doubtful.
