Bemlos pseudopunctatus (Ledoyer) View in CoL new combination
( figures 1C View FIG , 8a View FIG )
Lembos pseudopunctatus Ledoyer, 1978: 253 View in CoL , figure 21.
Material examined. One male, Rivière Banane, reef flat, 20 September 2001, GPS: 19‡40.271’S, 63‡28.575’E, Boodlea composita attached to coral.
Remarks. This species was first described by Ledoyer (1978) from Mauritius and the present material agrees well with that description. Bemlos pseudopunctatus is readily distinguished from other species of Bemlos in Rodrigues by its distinct dorsal bands of brown pigment on pereon segments 2, 4, 6 and 7.
The present record extends its known distribution within the Mascarene Islands.
