Bdelloidina View in CoL sp. cf. B. aggregata Carter 1877 ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 :15, 16)
Description. See Carter (1877, p. 201, pl. 13 figs 1–8).
Remarks. Bdelloidina aggregata Carter 1877 is characterised by having an attached test with numerous, very broad but low uniserial chambers and an agglutinated test. The chambers are generally slightly curved and follow the irregularities of the surface to which they’re attached. The aperture is not visible but this is due to the fact that this species possesses a row of apertural pores along the apertural face that lie directly against the attachment surface ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 :15, 16) ( Carter 1877; Loeblich & Tappan 1987). The tentative assignment is due to the low abundance and because the specimen does not traverse the attachment surface as extensively as elsewhere. The single specimen may also be a juvenile example.
Distribution within study area. One specimen was collected from site 2 of Transect 1 on Heron Reef flat.
