Notes: Ott (2009) listed the above species along with more than 100 other species of Batrachospermum that Skuja intended to describe as new. Dr. Svengunnar Ryman, Curator of Uppsala Muesum kindly informed us that there is no material of B. abrothallum from India located in UPS. According to Ott (2009), both male and female (dioecious) plants from India were included in the section Contorta of the genus, currently treated as the genus Kumanoa .
