Diagnosis. This species can be distinguished from other species of the genus Axinoscymnus by a single elongate oval dark brown spot on each elytron ( Fig. 8a View FIGURE 8 ).
Description. TL: 1.29–1.62 mm, TW: 0.88–1.13 mm, TH: 0.63–0.77 mm, TL/TW: 1.43–1.47, EL/EW: 1.13– 1.17, PL/PW: 0.55–0.57, HW/PW: 0.67–0.7, PW/EW: 0.65–0.69.
Body oval, moderately convex, dorsum with white pubescence ( Figs 8a–c View FIGURE 8 ). Head, antennae and mouthparts dark brown ( Fig. 8c View FIGURE 8 ), tip of mandibles blackish brown. Pronotum and scutellar shield dark brown. Elytra black with a single elongate oval dark brown spot on each elytron ( Fig. 8a View FIGURE 8 ). Prothoracic hypomeron and prosternum dark brown. Mesoventrite and elytral epipleurae dark brown. Metaventrite black. Legs yellowish brown.
Head with fine frontal punctures, as large as eye facets, 1.0–2.0 diameters apart. Eyes densely faceted, interocular distance about 0.33 times of head width ( Fig. 8c View FIGURE 8 ). Pronotal punctures slightly larger than those on frons, 1.0–2.0 diameters apart. Surface of elytra with punctures much larger than those on pronotum, separated by 1.0–2.5 diameters.
Abdominal postcoxal lines complete and moderately recurved, reaching 3/4 length of ventrite 1 ( Fig. 8d View FIGURE 8 ), area enclosed by the lines finely and sparsely punctate, irregularly distributed, broadly smooth along the lines; ventrite 1 with coarse and sparse punctures at middle, irregularly distributed.
Male genitalia. Penis slender, base of penis slightly broadened, narrowing to apex ( Fig. 8e View FIGURE 8 ); tegmen with penis guide widest at base, gradually tapering to apex in lateral view ( Fig. 8f View FIGURE 8 ), longer than 2/3 length of parameres; parameres stout and elongate oval with several setae at apex in lateral view ( Fig. 8f View FIGURE 8 ).

Distribution. China (Yunnan); India; Laos; Nepal; Sri Lanka.
Remarks. This species is recorded from China, Laos and Nepal for the first time.
