Supplemental description. Meso- and metatibia with four and five comb rows, respectively, of stout spines near apex of ventral margin ( Fig. 5B View FIGURE 5 ). Macropterous male: Posterolateral corners of abdominal segments II–VII right angled to rounded. Abdominal tergum VI without accessory genitalic process ( Fig. 5C View FIGURE 5 ). Medial lobes of VIII (pseudoparameres) of abdominal tergum VIII with posteromedial and posterolateral corners rounded, with elongate setae ( Fig. 5D View FIGURE 5 ). Proctiger lateral margin slightly concave at mid-length ( Fig. 5E View FIGURE 5 ). Pygophore anterior margin shallowly concave ( Fig. 5E View FIGURE 5 ), parameres rounded, dense brush of setae on dorsal surface. Phallosoma elongate, right side almost straight, left side angled, slightly curved in distal half; ventral surface of phallosoma with left endosomal lobe lightly sclerotized and papillose ( Fig. 5H View FIGURE 5 ). Macropterous female: Posterior margin of laterosternite VI (on each side) with a posteriorly directed, small digitate process at basal third. Mediosternite VII (subgenital plate) with lateral margins convex and convergent to rounded posterior margin, without spines or projections at posterolateral corner ( Fig. 5I View FIGURE 5 ).
Discussion. De Carlo (1968) described Ambrysus partridgei based only on the male holotype, from the Adolpho Ducke Forest Reserve, in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil. According to the original description, the specimen was deposited at the "Instituto Hidrobiológico de Plön", today Max Plank Institute. However, after searching through several collections, the type was not found. The identification of this species remained unclear due to material for comparison with the original description. Recently, Sites et al. (2024) recorded it in French Guiana, Suriname and in the state of Pará, Brazil, in addition to providing a diagnosis and photo of the dorsal habitus.
Despite an overall resemblance among Australambrysus partridgei , A. brunneus , A. minutus n. sp. and A. shorti , including the rounded posterolateral corners of the abdominal segments, this species presents a number of unique characteristics: elongate body shape (10.50–11.52 mm), glossy dorsal surface of the body, meso- and metatibia with at least four comb rows of stout spines near apex of ventral margin, and absence of an accessory genitalic process on male abdominal tergum VI.
Distribution. This species is distributed essentially throughout the Amazon, including the Guiana Shield ( Fig. 13 View FIGURE 13 ).
