Aulidiotis recta View in CoL Li, sp. nov.
( Figs 8 View FIGURES 5 – 10 , 14 View FIGURES 11 – 15 )
Type material. Holotype: ♂, China: Mt. Babao, Nanling (23.13°N, 113.27°E), Guangdong, 1070 m, 23.VIII.2010, leg. Shulian Hao, genitalia slide No. LLJ15103.
Paratypes: 1♂, Mt. Pinglong, Shangsi (22.15°N, 107.98°E), Guangxi, 510 m, 6.IV.2002, leg. Shulian Hao and Huaijun Xue, genitalia slide No. JQ07119; 1♂, Taiwan, 1972, leg. Issiki S., genitalia slide No. INU-NK15006, deposited in INU.
Adult ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 5 – 10 ). Wingspan 17.0 mm. Head yellowish white. Labial palpus yellowish white with brown scales; second segment about 1.5 times length of diameter of eye; third segment relatively thin distally. Antenna with scape pale yellow, flagellum alternately brown and deep yellow, sparsely ciliated. Thorax and tegula yellowish white. Forewing with costal and dorsal margins nearly parallel; ground color pale yellowish brown, becoming deep brown from base toward inner margin of distal patch; distal patch nearly elliptical, pale yellow tinged with ochreous scales, inner margin slightly arched inward; cilia yellowish brown. Hindwing and cilia grayish brown. Legs yellowish white, with brown scales; fore and mid legs with tarsi deep yellow, tarsomeres yellowish white apically except last segment black at apex; hindleg with tarsus deep yellow except black brown at apex.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 11 – 15 ). Uncus wide at base, constricted at middle laterally; distal half trapezoidally protruded, nearly straight on posterior margin. Gnathos approximately fan-shaped, anterior margin straight, with dense pecten stretching backward. Valva shorter than tegumen-uncus complex, gradually narrowed toward distal part, rounded apically. Transtilla dilated distally, connected medially. Sacculus subtriangular, gradually narrowed to hooked apex; dorsal margin protruding roundly. Vinculum narrowly banded. Phallus somewhat rhomboid, obtuse apically.
Female unknown.
Diagnosis. This species is extremely similar to A. phoxopterella by the forewing with a subelliptical distal patch, but distinguishable by the uncus with the distal part trapezoid, and the posterior margin straight in the male genitalia. In A. phoxopterella , the distal part of the uncus is subtriangular, and rounded on the posterior margin in the male genitalia.
Distribution. China (Guangdong, Guangxi, Taiwan).
Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin rectus (straight), referring to the uncus with posterior margin nearly straight in the male genitalia.
