Aulidiotis bicolor Moriuti, 1977 View in CoL
( Figs 6 View FIGURES 5 – 10 , 12 View FIGURES 11 – 15 )
Aulidiotis bicolor Moriuti, 1977: 124 . Type locality: Japan. Type depository: Osaka Prefecture University, Sakaishi, Japan.
Material examined. China: 2♂♂, Yingshan, Hubei, 635 m, 23.VI.2014, leg. Wei Guan and Meiqing Yang, genitalia slide Nos. LLJ15039, LLJ15097.
Adult ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 5 – 10 ). Wingspan 14.0–16.0 mm. Head grayish white, eye with pale grayish brown scales posterolaterally. Labial palpus with second segment yellowish white, mixed with pale brown scales, about 1.5 times length of diameter of eye; third segment yellow on inner side, brown mixed with black scales on outer side, thinner than second. Antenna with scape yellowish white, flagellum alternately black brown and deep yellowish brown on dorsal surface, pale brown on ventral surface. Thorax and tegula grayish brown. Forewing with costa and dorsum nearly parallel; apex obtuse, termen slightly rounded; ground color dark grayish brown; distal patch subtriangular, yellow tinged with brown scales, inner margin nearly straight; cilia yellow basally, brown distally. Hindwing with cilia grayish brown. Legs yellowish white, tinged with pale brown scales; tarsi brown on dorsal surface, pale brown on ventral surface, tarsomeres yellowish white apically.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 11 – 15 ). Uncus broad at base, narrowed to before middle where it is constricted inward, then widened to before basal 2/3, with lateral margins triangularly protruded; distal 1/3 triangularly protruded, angled apically. Gnathos approximately semioval, anterior margin slightly arched, with dense pecten stretching backward. Valva longer than tegumen-uncus complex; distal 1/5 narrowed gradually, obtuse at apex. Costa banded, about 1/3 width of valva, reaching distal 1/4 of valva. Transtilla dilated, sclerotized, weakly joined medially. Sacculus subrectangular, triangularly elongate dorsoapically. Vinculum narrowly banded, bluntly rounded anteriorly. Phallus stout, rounded apically.
Female unknown.
Diagnosis. This species is different from other Aulidiotis species by the distal patch of the forewing which is more or less subtriangular. It is very close to A. phoxopterella in the male genitalia, and the differences between them are stated under the latter species.
Distribution. China (Hubei), Japan.
Notes. This species is newly recorded from China.
