Aulacus mcmillani Jennings et al. 2004a: 119 ; Jennings 2010 [on-line checklist].
This species was described recently by Jennings et al. (2004a) from Kings Park, Perth, Western Australia. Although the holotype is a male, the description in Jennings et al. (2004a) included a female partially emerged from its cocoon. In this specimen, the ovipositor guide is medial, transverse and shallow.
Aulacus mcmillani is similar to the Queensland species A. glorious . Both species have the mesosoma rounded in lateral view, a clavate metasoma, lack the spot on the apex of fore wing, and have incomplete hind wing venation. The two species differ in the position of the ovipositor guide and in colouration (see key above for details).
