Aulacogenia corniculata Stål 1870: 701 View in CoL ; Stål 1874: 87; Lethierry & Severin 1896: 85; Distant, 1910: 186; Hoffmann 1944: 8; Miller 1954: 209, 215, fig. 4a–e; Hsiao & Ren In: Hsiao et al. 1981: 477; Li In: Li et al. 1990: 27, misidentification; MaldonadoCapriles 1990: 493; Putshkov & Putshkov, 1996: 208; Hua 2000: 207.
Redescription. Color. Dark yellow to yellowish brown. Head, middle longitudinal stripe on anterior lobe of pronotum, thoracic sterna, coxae, femora (except apices), apical 3/4 of tibiae, tarsi, distal half of each segment of connexivum brown to blackish brown; eyes blackish brown to brownish black; oblique stripes in middle cell of hemelytron, longitudinal stripes between inner cell and outer cell of membrane and other paler irregular markings grayish white, translucent; trochanters, basal 1/4 of tibiae pale yellow; abdomen beneath dark yellow to blackish brown, suffused with irregular paler markings.
Structure. Smallsized. Lateral margins of anteocular portion nearly parallel, lower margins of anteocular portion nearly straight; first antennal segment subequal to anteocular portion in length, second segment shorter and subequal to first rostral segment in length; antennal tubercles short; interantennal processes short, rounded apically, slightly recurved, Vshaped separated anteriorly; lateral sides of postocular portion faintly expanded, postocular portion with two nodular tubercles on lower lateral margin, anterior one distinctly larger than posterior one; first rostral segment reaching middle of eye, second rostral segment short and thick, narrowing apically. Anterior lobe of pronotum bulging, longitudinally depressed medially and sublaterally; posterior lobe of pronotum with a wide and shallow median depression, two longitudinal carinae along sides of depression; lateral angles of posterior lobe of pronotum rounded, faintly budging upwards; median portion of posterior margin slightly concave ( Figs. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 3 , 4 View FIGURES 4 – 8 ). Fore tibia not wider than fore femur. Posterior angle of each segment of connexivum not protruded. Structures of abdominal apex shown as Figs. 2, 3 View FIGURES 1 – 3 , 10, 11 View FIGURES 9 – 14 .
Measurements. Body length 9.07 (ɗ), 10.00 (Ψ); maximum width of abdomen 2.93 (ɗ), 2.53 (Ψ); Head length 1.33 (ɗ), 1.67(Ψ); length of anteocular part 0.73 (ɗ), 0.53 (Ψ); length of postocular part 0.55 (ɗ), 0.82 (Ψ); length of synthlipsis 0.53 (ɗ), 0.56 (Ψ); distance between ocelli 0.33 (ɗ), 0.37 (Ψ); length of antennal segments I:II:III:IV=0.67 (ɗ), 0.75 (Ψ): 0.83 (ɗ), 0.83 (Ψ): 0.10 (ɗ), 0.12 (Ψ): 0.45 (ɗ), 0.50 (Ψ); length of rostral segments I:II:III=0.83 (ɗ), 0.92 (Ψ): 0.30 (ɗ), 0.32 (Ψ): 0.37 (ɗ), 0.37 (Ψ); length of anterior lobe of pronotum 0.87(ɗ), 1.00 (Ψ); length of posterior lobe of pronotum 0.90 (ɗ), 0.73 (Ψ); maximum width of pronotum 1.72 (ɗ), 1.87 (Ψ); length of scutellum 0.67 (ɗ), 0.60 (Ψ); length of hemelytron 5.87(ɗ), 6.00 (Ψ).
Type material. Holotype, ɗ, from the Philippines, in Swedish Natural History Museum, Stockholm.
Distribution. China (Guangxi, Hainan), Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Remarks. This species is confused with A. errabunda (Distant) in the Chinese literature. Here we record the distribution only of specimens we have examined.
