Aspicera porif Ros-Farré n. sp.
( Figs 36a & b View FIGURE 36 )
Type material: (1♂). HOLOTYPE male ( UB) 15/IV/1989 Herault , Grabels , FRANCE, H. Tussac leg.
Diagnosis. Aspicera porif belongs to the group of species with occiput and lateral margin of pronotum sharply carinate. A. porif is similar to A. simulacrum having long and slender scutellar spine, scutellum convex and wing with long and dense marginal pubescence, but A. porif has scutellar foveae shallow and weakly sculptured, and scutellar disc sharply convex, while in A. simulacrum scutellar foveae are deep and smooth and scutellar disc weakly convex.
Description
Length. Male 3.36 mm.; female unknown.
Coloration. Head, antennae, mesosoma and metasoma black. Leg medium to dark brown. Wing veins medium brown.
Head. Frons coriaceous, sharply rugose at dorsal half. Lateral frontal carinae sharp, divergent, curved near lateral ocelli. Area between compound eye and lateral frontal carinae with very weak transverse carinae. Gena in lateral view rounded, not expanded, coriaceous, with sharp transverse carinae. Vertex weakly incised, coriaceous, rugose. Ocelli weakly prominent. Occiput coriaceous with sharp longitudinal/rugose carinae on dorsal 1/3, thin transverse carinae on basal 2/3.
Antenna. Filiform. F1 clearly excavated. Antennal formula: 9(6): 4(5): 13.5(5): 12(5): 11(5): 12(5): 11(5): 10(5): 10(5): 9(5): 9(5): 9(4.5): 9(4.5): 15(4).
Mesosoma. Lateral surface of pronotum coriaceous with dull and short transverse carinae on lateral superior margin. Subpronotal plate not projected, dorsal margin glabrous. Scutum coriaceous with very small and short small carinae near notauli, antero-admedian lines sharp, parallel, reaching 1/3–1/2 scutum length, median mesoscutal line sharp. Lateral line conspicuous, complete. Antero-admedian lines reaching 1/2 scutum length, parallel; median ridge rather weak. Notauli and median mesoscutal sulcus shiny, with trace of small transverse carinae. Area between notauli prominent in lateral view. Parascutal sulcus ending near anterior end of notauli, pubescent, alutaceous anteriorly. Mesopleuron coriaceous, with oblique carinae on ventral area and anterior 1/3, smooth on dorsoposterior area. Scutellum 1.1 times scutum length, slightly emarginate on posterior half. Scutellar foveae sculptured, slightly wrinkled, not clearly carinate or with clear microsculpture, scutellar pits shallow. Interfoveal carina clearly impressed, continuing along scutellar disc to beginning of scutellar spine. Scutellar disc swollen posterior to scutellar foveae, with some little sinuous lateral carinae on each side, short transverse carinae between them, steeply sloping towards basis of scutellar spine in lateral view. Scutellar spine 0.78 times length of scutellar disc, sharply wide, with fine longitudinal rugae, clearly curved, directed downwards in lateral view.
Wing. Wing membrane slightly smoked. Radial cell 2.2 times longer than wide. Wing pubescence not reduced. Marginal pubescence present from R2. R1 long. R2 straight, slightly curved near dorsal margin. Rs+M sharply marked by a smoked shadow.
Derivatio nominis. Dedicated to Pere Oleguer Ros i Farré, brother of the first author.
