Diagnosis. Males of A. schizocoides have unique brush-like setae on the tibiae for the first pair of legs ( Fig. 32A, B View FIGURE 32 ; Framenau & Hebets 2007: fig. 4). The epigyne of females remotely resembles that of A. cingulipes , however, in A. schizocoides it is much smaller and darker in colorations.

Life history and habitat preferences. Most records of adult females and males are from between June and September, with occasional reports from October and November. The species is therefore winter to spring mature. The species seems to prefer dry to moderately moist forests in hilly to mountainous regions ( Framenau & Hebets 2007).
Distribution. South-western Western Australia, north as far as Perth and east as far as the Stirling Range National Park ( Fig. 26 View FIGURE 26 ).
