Description of Arthrobacter scleromae View in CoL mNW18

Cells are Gram-staining-positive, flagellated, non-pigmented and coccoidshaped. Colonies are circular and cream-colored after 3 days on minimal meduim at 25℃. Positive reactions are obtained for glucose fermentation, urease, esculin hydrolysis, gelatinase and β-galactosidase in API 20NE, and negative reactions are obtained for nitrate reduction, indole production and arginine dihydrolase. Larabinose, Dmannitol, N acetylglucosamine, Dmaltose, potassium gluconate, trisodium citrate and phenylacetic acid are utilized. Does not utilize Dglucose, Dmannose, capric acid, adipic acid and malic acid. Strain mNW18 (= NIBRBA0000113977 ) was isolated from a forest soil sample, Gwanak Mountain , Seoul, Korea.
