20. Argyresthia (Argyresthia) hirsuta , sp. nov. ( Figs. 30 View FIGURES 28 – 35 , 99 View FIGURES 96 – 101 , 155 View FIGURES 154 – 157 , 211 View FIGURES 209 – 220 )
Description. Adult ( Fig. 30 View FIGURES 28 – 35 ) wingspan 11.5 mm. Head white. Labial palpus white dorsally, gray ventrally and laterally. Antenna with scape grayish white, pecten grayish fuscous; flagellum grayish white, ringed with black. Foreleg with femur, tibia and tarsus black on inner surface, tibia dotted with black near base and at middle, dotted with gray on distal part dorsally, tarsus black on distal part of each tarsomere dorsally, remainder white; midleg mostly grayish white, femur gray ventrally, tibia with a suffused blackish-gray dot near base, at middle, and near distal end dorsally, tarsus blackish gray on distal part of each tarsomere; hindleg mostly white, tibia and first tarsomere gray on outer surface, tarsus blackish gray on outer surface of distal part of other tarsomeres. Thorax white; tegula blackish fuscous. Forewing ratio 4.2; blackish gray, suffused with black scales, denser on distal 3/10; costa with several black transverse striae in basal 7/10, with white spot at distal 1/10 and before apex, the former larger; blackish-gray streak below basal 2/5 of fold; dorsal band white, extending to before tornus, underlining a slender gray stria along dorsum to before end of fold; dorsal spot black, square, situated before middle of wing; tornal dot black, dot above tornal dot somewhat whitish; cilia white adjacent to white costal spots, black around apex, dark gray near tornus. Hindwing and cilia uniformly gray.
Male genitalia ( Figs. 99 View FIGURES 96 – 101 , 155 View FIGURES 154 – 157 , 211 View FIGURES 209 – 220 ): Tuba analis slightly shorter than width of valva. Socius covered with 21̄23 scale-like setae, slightly triangularly protruded posteriorly, bearing four to five long setae on the protrusion ( Fig. 211 View FIGURES 209 – 220 ). Gnathos without long thick setae apically. Valva subelliptical, basal 3/7 uniform in width, distal 4/7 narrowed, dorsal margin slightly arched in basal 2/7, nearly straight in distal 5/7; with a row of long thick setae in disc near ventral margin, with a few similar setae on distal area. Saccus shorter than width of valva, with distal 3/4 narrow, nearly uniform in width. Phallus nearly straight, slender, 5.9 times as long as width of valva ( Fig. 155 View FIGURES 154 – 157 ). Second sternite with about 12 micro-setae in each row; eighth sternite V-shaped. Coremata present.
Female unknown.

Distribution. China (Ningxia).
Diagnosis. This species resembles A. (A.) trigonophylla , sp. nov., and A. (A.) chiotorna superficially. It can be separated from the latter two species by the midleg with femur gray ventrally; the dorsal white band on the forewing underlined with a slender gray stria before the end of the fold; the socius bearing four to five long setae posteriorly; and the gnathos lacking the long thick setae apically in the male genitalia. In A. (A.) trigonophylla , sp. nov., the white femur of the midleg is dotted with black at base and at middle ventrally; the dorsal white band is absent of a gray stria along the dorsum in the forewing; the socius bears two long setae posteriorly; and the gnathos has 5̄11 long thick setae apically in the male genitalia. The relatively short phallus of A. (A.) chiotorna is 3.9 times the width of the valva; whereas the relatively long phallus of A. (A.) hirsuta and A. (A.) trigonophylla , sp. nov., is 5.9 and 5.6̄6.4 times the width of the valva, respectively.
Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin hirsutus, meaning with more setae, referring to the socius posteriorly bearing more setae than its congener A. (A.) trigonophylla , sp. nov.
