Type:—Not designated.

Note:—Misc. Bot. 1803–1804. is a separate preprint or reprint of Mem. Acad. Sci. Turin, Sci. Phys. 10–11: 317–386. 1803–1804. [24 September 1803 – 17 September 1804]. In the protologue, the epiteth ‘ villarii ’ is used. This species is dedicated to Domínique Villars. He is known to botanists as Villars, but he was born Villar; his “Prospectus de l’histoire des plantes de Dauphiné” was published by Villar in 1779, whereas the name had changed to Villars by 1786 ( Williams 1997). Consequently the epithet should be kept as in the original description.
