= Bombyx matrona Hübner , [1800-03]; Samml. Europ. Schmett. Lep. 3, Bomb.: t. 32, f. 138, [1803-08]: t. 55, f. 239. Type locality: not stated, probably Augsburg vic. [ Germany].

Distribution: Europe: Eastern France, Southern and Central Germany, the Alps, Central Europe from Central Poland to Hungary, the Carpathians in Romania, Lithuania, Belarus, Northern Ukraine, Northern European Russia up to St.- Petersburg, the Upper Volga and the Lower Kama, south up to Saratov; Asian Russia north up to Kurgan; the Chulym and Angara rivers; Northern Baikal (Kichera); Transbaikalia; Northern Mongolia; Russian Far East: the whole Amur basin, Primorye, Sakhalin; China: Dunbei, North Nei Mongol, Hebei, Shanxi, Ningxia, Gansu; Korea ( Dubatolov 2010).
