Phoretic female. Length of idiosoma 205 (181–210), maximum width 155 (150–158).
Gnathosoma (figs. 1–2). Dorsally with 3 pairs of setae, of these, ch1>ch2, both on same transverse line; pp tiny and hardly visible, inserted anterolaterally of setae ch2. Ventral surface with 1 pair of setae. Each palp with 2 dorsal setae; ventrally with mushroomlike process and solenidion.
Idiosomal dorsum (fig. 1). Free margin of tergite C with weakly developed stripes. Cupules ih large, oval, ia not evident. Tergite H with posteromedian tonguelike elongation. Setae c2 inserted on free margin of tergite C and bearing a highly sclerotic alveolar canal. All dorsal setae barbed. Setae d, f, h1, h2 bluntly ended. Length of dorsal setae: c1 40(39–40), c2 39(37–40), d 44(44–46), e 44(43–44), f 36 (35–37), h1 57(55–58), h2 46(44–46). Distances between dorsal setae: c1–c1 55(55–58), c1–c2 29(28–30), d–d 87(87–91), e–f 42(41–42), f–f 44(44–49), h1–h1 29(28–29), h1–h2 37(37–39). Propodosomal setae v1 longer and thicker than v2. Trichobothrium with thin stem, distally round, with fine barbs.
Idiosomal venter (fig. 2). Setae 3b, 4a, 4b with thickened base and smooth. Setae 1a thick, beaklike. Setae 2a, 2b, 3a thin and smooth. Setae 1b, 3c, 4c distinctly barbed. Setae ps1 and ps3 thickened, barbed, ps2 thin with few barbs. Apodemata IV highly sclerotized, extending to insertion of setae 3b. Apodemata V completely reduced. Length of ventral setae: 1a 19(17–19), 1b 34(34–35), 2a 22(21–24), 2b 33(30–33), 3a 27(26–27), 3b 26(25– 26), 3c 37(36–37), 4a 19(18–20), 4b 30(30–31), 4c 50(47–50), ps1 32(32–33), ps2 20(17– 20), ps3 33(32–34).
Legs (figs. 3–6). Leg I (fig. 3): setae formulae: Tr1Fe3Ge4TiTa15(4) (number of solenidia in parenthesis). Tibiotarsus thickened, with massive claw. Solenidia 2 14(14– 15)> 2 12(11–13)> 1 11(10–11) = 1 11(10–11); 2 and 2 uniformly thin, 1 and 1 thickened distally. Setae dFe broadened, leaflike. Leg II (fig. 4): setae formula: Tr1 Fe3Ge3Ti4(1)Ta6(1). Tarsus with slightly asymmetrical claws (the anterior one longer than posterior). Solenidion 10(10–11) broadened at the middle portion, solenidion 9(8–9) is uniformly thin. Leg III (fig. 5): setae formula: Tr1Fe2Ge2Ti4(1)Ta6. Claws asymmetrical as on tarsus II. Solenidion 10(10) of the same shape as on leg II. Leg IV (fig. 6): setae formula: Tr1Fe2Ge1Ti3(1)Ta6. Tarsus with pretarsus and two small claws, empodium extended, distally widened. Solenidion 13(13–14) of the same shape as on leg II and III.
Male, nonphoretic female and larva unknown.
Diagnosis. By the presence of beaklike setae 1a, thickened at the base setae 3b, 4a, 4b, the new species is similar to A. omega Kurosa, 1976 , A. pseudomega Kurosa, 1984 and A. stenolophi Kurosa, 1990 , described from Japan. From all above mentioned species it differs by shorter setae f and by the position of setae 3b behind the level of 3c (at the same level in other species).
Type material. Holotype (female): slide No. 497, Ukraine, Odessa distr., Bolgradskiy reg., settl. Vishnevoe, on Stenolophus persicus Mnnh. , (without date) (leg. Eidelberg); paratypes: 3 females, Moldavia, Tarakliya, on Stenolophus discophorus (Fischer) , 16– 17.VIII.1989, (leg. Eidelberg).
Etymology. The new species is named in the honor of Dr. Kazuyoshi Kurosa, Japan for his contribution to the study of carabid associated Scutacaridae .
