Type material examined. Holotype ( Melanomaladera yunnana ): ɗ " China NW Yunnan Degen city env. 3300 m alt. 29. Jun. 1998 A. Gorodinski / Holotypus Melanomaladera yunnana sp. n. Y. Miyake 199" ( NMMC).

Additional material examined. 7 specimens " China pr. Yunnan b. occ. Degen env. 3900–4200 m 2.– 8.6.1993 R. Cervenka lgt." (CN, CA), 4 specimens " China, NW Yunnan, 3600 m road Degen-Yanjing 10 km W Degen, 28°28’N, 98°53’E, 21–22.VI.1997 Jaroslav Turna leg." (CP), 1 specimen " China – NW Yunnan, 3000 m road Degen-Yanjing 30 km W Degen, 1997, 28 °32’N, 98°49’E, 23.VI. M. Trýna et O. Šafránek lgt." (CP).

Remarks. The genitalia of the holotype of Melanomaladera yunnana Miyake & Yamaya, 2001 is damaged with the right paramere missing. Genital morphology of this species is very similar to that of A. medvedevi Nikolajev, 1982 .
