Aphylax mentiens Lacordaire, 1869: 165 ; Monné, 2018a: 668 (cat.; in syn.).

According to Lacordaire (1869) (translated): “I have only seen a single female specimen sent to me by Mr. C. A. Dohrn.” It was Gounelle (1911) who first synonymized A. mentiens with A. lyciformis .

Monné (2018a) and Tavakilian & Chevillotte (2018) recorded the holotype being deposited in the CMSP collection. Actually, it is deposited in the ZMPA collection.
